The painting is titled: "Luck, Prosperity, Honor and Fidelity"
16"x20" oil painting
This work is a still life of Peonies (from the artist's garden).
The title is inspired from the Japanese Reverence for Peonies-- symbols for Luck, Prosperity, Honor and Fidelity!  a fun fact: Feng-shui practice recommends that you place peonies by the front door or in your bedroom to welcome marriage and fidelity into your life.

The inspiration for this show came from a packet of photographs found in an antique store by painter Bonnie Zak.
With the photos was a letter from a woman in Fargo, North Dakota, addressed to a relative in Chicago and postmarked 1951.

The photos appear to be dated from the 1930’s and show family scenes familiar to us all
—married couples standing in front of their houses, children playing, groups of relatives posing for the camera, portraits of aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters.

Participating artists are Meredith Dytch, Fran Edmondson, Jessica Fine, Mary Gingrich,
Patricia Larkin Green, Fran Mazur, Margaret Tully Nicosia, Ann Ponce, Kate Tully, and Bonnie Zak.
All have worked together in the studio during the past year.

"Art & Wine" (a tasting and a show) A wine tasting featuring local artists, their work and the wines they like. We’re hoping to make this a regular event - we invite some local artists, who also happen to be wine lovers, to show their work. They’ll select 3 wines that inspire them somehow. You’ll get to taste these wines while checking out their work - Sounds cool, doesn’t it? Support local artists and taste some great wines, all at Chicago’s best wine shop!
